Urban development has been carried out in the area around train stations to unify the North and South areas, including installing rooves, improving the passage at Kichijoji Station, constructing a continuous grade separation and improving the square in front of the North exit at Musashisakai Station.To create a pleasant residential environment, the city is rolling out green urban planning and carrying out improvements according to development regulations, as well as ensuring areas for pedestrians and bicycles, educating people on trafc rules and manners, promoting earthquake-resistant measures and efforts to prevent homes from standing empty in order to achieve a safe and secure city.In accordance with comprehensive administration plans, Musashino is working to improve disaster preparedness and safety, and implementing efficient maintenance and continuous management for urban foundations indispensable to residents’ lives and economic activities, such as roads, water and sewage.Musashino has enacted specialized criterion etc. for better urban planning while making the most of the city’s characteristics.
