It is the membersof the community who sustain this sound city filled with smiles and kindness.Kindly watching over children like a“nanny in the neighborhood”Various programs are organized by community members toprovide child-raising support.“Group nurseries”offer day careservices for a few children in an at-home atmosphere. Onesuch facility is the Himawari Nursery“Sakura”run by NPOChildcare Service Himawari Mama. This nursery, situated at aroom of a housing complex, accepts children from ages 0 to 2.In addition, a program named Community Center Parent-Child Plaza is set up at community centers as a place for childrenand their parents or guardians to interact. Here, parentsand guardians can have a fun time while asking each otherquestions on child-raising or sharing their concerns andexchanging information.06
