Exchanges started in 1972.Nagaoka City, Niigata PrefectureLocated near central Niigata Prefecture,this city opens out to the coastof Shinano River. Exchanges since1989. The city is famous for growinghigh quality rice as well as for“Oguni washi (Japanese paper).”Iwami Town, Tottori PrefectureMusashino CityLocated in the northeastern tip ofTottori Prefecture, this scenic townoverlooks the Sea of Japan. Leading industriesinclude fruit cultivation, such asmikan, blueberry, and strawberry, aswell fishing and shipbuilding.Azumino City, Nagano PrefectureLocated near central Nagano Prefecture,this city features the majesticscenery of the Northern Alps. It isfamous for growing wasabi, whichutilizes spring water, as well asapples and other produce.Exchanges have been conductedsince 1987.Musashino City and friendship cities’Antenna Shop“Mugiwara-boshi”A 7-minute walk from Kichijoji Station,“Mugiwara-boshi”is located on the corner ofthe bustling Nakamichi-dori Shopping Street. This antenna shop promotes and sellsthe specialties of the friendship cities of Musashino City.
