Cherry blossom trees along Chuo-dori. When in bloom, approx. 200cherry blossom trees create a“cherry blossom tunnel.”The Civic Cultural Hall, has a pipe organ, hosts the InternationalOrgan Competition Musashino-Tokyo.The Yokogawa Musashino Football Club is a football team thatrooted in the area.the lodging of U.S. forces and other facilities wereconstructed on the lot of the Nakajima Aircraft Company.Since then, the facilities have been transformedinto parks and public housing.This area has many cultural, sports, andadministrative facilities, and is blessed with arich natural environmentWalk down to the North-exit of Mitaka Station, youwill be welcomed by the World Federation PeaceStatue created by the world-renowned sculptor,Seibo Kitamura. You can also find nearby a cenotaphinscribed with the lyrics of Doppo Kunikida.This area is the hub of the central functions ofadministration as well as cultural facilities.
