Places where childrencan play in harmonywith natureAt Sakai Adventure Play Park(Playpark Musashino), children arefree to have fun as they please.Whether it is tree climbing or handiwork,the park offers abundant ideasfor having a great time with play leaders.At pond Tonbo-ike in SekimaePark,“Kaibori”is held in July of everyyear. Kaibori is a conservation activityfor restoring the intrinsic ecosystem ofthe pond. Every year, many childrenparticipate in this event.Aiming to create the ideal park, communitymembers participate in from the plan makingParks are places of solace for thepeople. At Musashino City, parks arecreated that reflect the voices of thepeople who will utilize them. For theKyonan Chuo Park in 4-chome Kyonancho,community members identifieditems which are important and necessaryin developing a park over thecourse of five workshops, and conceivedand planned various aspectsfrom the basic layout to the planting ofthe plants and trees and the flow diagram.A place where people can come in contactwith long-standing ecosystemsThe Musashino Nature ObservationPark is a habitat for living organisms(biotope) where visitors can come incontact with plants, insects, and fishwhich have inhabited Musashino sinceearly times. NPO Corporation,Musashino Shizen Juku (Nature CramSchool) organizes a diverse range ofhands-on nature programs. The activitiesinclude old-time favorite gamesusing wildflowers, the making of insectspecimens, bird watching, and observationsof planets, and are designed tobe enjoyable also for adults.MyMusashino LifeA“satoyama”in the communitywhere people can stop by easilyThe concept behind the establishment ofKonohana Koji Park was to“create asatoyama in the City.”Although no fancy flowersare planted, visitors can enjoy wildflowersof all four seasons, such as sweet cherriesthat grow cherries and Dove trees that blossombeautiful white flowers.
