Chair and Vice ChairFunction of the City CouncilCity Council StructureThe role of the council is to discuss and make final decisions on important administrative matters, including budgets and ordinances proposed by the mayor. The council checks whether the city administration is properly executed through deliberations. Members of the council may also propose policies as bills and deliberate on petitions. They see to it that all municipal, metropolitan and national policies are carried out.The Musashino city council consists of 26 elected members. There are ordinary sessions held four times a year and extraordinary sessions held when necessary.
