Easily maneuverable Mu Buses help people get aroundMu BusIn 1995, the Mu Bus was developed as the rst community bus in Japan. The buses run 7 lines and 9 routes, and have been established as a reliable means of local transportation. Around 7,000 people ride the buses per day, totaling approximately 2.6 million a year. 2015 marked its 20th anniversary and in 2016 the cumulative number of passengers exceeded 40 million. Easy for elderly and parents with children to get around, the Mu Bus strives to be a means of transportation well appreciated by the community.Creating a convenientenvironment for bicycles Bicycle MeasuresApproximately 30,000 bicycles a day are ridden to the station areas due to the city’s compact, at terrain. The city has cleaned up illegally parked bicycles left on the sidewalks to create a safe, secure and pleasant pedestrian space for a beautiful cityscape. Musashino will continue to move forward with both tangible and intangible measures for bicycles, including improving spaces that pedestrians, bicycles and vehicles can share, increasing bicycle parking spaces, implementing measures against illegally parked bicycles, conducting education on traffic rules and manners and promoting the purchase of insurance.
