Producing a new recycling system for a sustainable societyPower Self-sufciencyTo achieve a low-carbon society, Musashino is promoting power self-sufficiency with projects such as waste power generation at the Clean Center and collecting used oil from homes for reuse.State of the art waste management with environmentalaly friendly design.New Musashino Clean Center The new Musashino Clean Center was completed in 2017 to take the place of the old clean center that had been in operation since 1984. This facility, which has the latest equipment, operates safely based on stringent self-imposed regulations on exhaust gas. The dumping area is located underground as a measure against noise and odor. In addition to utilizing electricity produced by waste power generation, it also supplies electricity to public facilities such as the city hall. Moreover, gas cogeneration has also been adopted to enable electricity for restarting incinerators and supplying power to facilities such as the city hall in a disaster. The Clean Center is distinctive for a construction design based on the image of a Musashino forest and an open tour that shows visitors the garbage disposal process.
